About

I am a bit of a serial obsessive. I tend to REALLY get into things.

My interests are sometimes esoteric, but also include the normal stuff that you would expect to find in any blog, like gardening, cooking and pictures of animals.

  • I am a librarian by trade. Anything related to my professional life, I will post at Mike Waugh: Systems Librarian.
  • My game of choice is Scrabble. I am the director of the Baton Rouge Scrabble Club.
  • If you are looking for the deep backfiles, I blogged from 2003-2009 on a site I called Waughblog. Although sometimes I read one of those old posts and wonder who the hell wrote it.
  • I can sing and play guitar. I’ve written some songs. It’s been a few years since I’ve played in any bands, but I was a regular on the Baton Rouge scene particularly through the 1990s. I contributed directly to the demise of the following bands: Pincecone On Tent, The Nuevo Hippie Cover Band, Mike Waugh Brand Music, Lake Waugh, Blind Deer, Softshoe Leslie, and many more.
  • My wife’s name is Chairity. You might not see her much because she’s pretty and I don’t want to encourage the stalkers. We have some cats, a dog, some horses and chickens.
